Christopher Eccleston has come out in support of Jodie Whittaker’s casting in Doctor Who. Eccleston, of course, helped re-launch the BBC’s flagship sci-fi series back in 2005, bringing a cheeky northern charm to the eponymous Time Lord. Whittaker – the first woman to land the part - will step into the role at the end of 2017’s Christmas special, which is going by the title “Twice Upon a Time”. Eccleston and Whittaker have worked together before, appearing in a British production of the play Antigone....

The upcoming film is meant to be a sequel to both the Stephen King book, The Shining, as well as director Stanley Kubrick’s legendary 1980 film adaptation of King’s book. King famously disliked Kubrick’s adaptation of his 1977 horror best-seller, taking issue with numerous aspects of the legendary director’s vision and approach. Then, in 2013, King released the novel Doctor Sleep, which was written as a direct sequel to The Shining....

In November audiences will meet one of Marvel’s darkest and most mystical characters: Stephen Strange, also known as ‘The Sorcerer Supreme.’ Strange will debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in his standalone movie, Doctor Strange, as part of Marvel’s Phase Three, injecting mysticism and, apparently, time-altering mechanics to the studio’s superhero universe. Marvel has been especially mysterious about Strange, but the details are finally starting to arrive. After getting the first official look at Benedict Cumberbatch in full Doctor Strange costume, as well as some extra images and concept art, the Marvel crew are now sharing details on Strange’s powers and magical artifacts....

Doctor Strange is one of the most visually stunning entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie boasts tremendous effects, but much of its visual appeal comes from the minimalist magic employed by The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) and her students, including Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch). Its distinctive look and feel would certainly lend itself to equally vibrant concept art. Previously-released or leaked concept art for Doctor Strange has given a look at the early looks of some of the characters, including an unused design of Kaecilius’ (Mads Mikkelsen) zealots, an early concept for Dormammu, and a preliminary drawing of Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) that’s fairly close to the costume that ultimately appeared in the movie....
