In commemoration of the 20th anniversary, Apple TV+ today launched its documentary on the greatest terrorism attack to strike America: ‘9/11: Inside the President’s War Room’ is now streaming worldwide on Apple TV+ (apart from the UK, where it is currently only available on the BBC). As the program is a co-production between Apple and the BBC, the documentary was first premiered on broadcast channel BBC One in the UK and is available on iPlayer catch-up....

Doctor Sleep has been praised by Stephen King himself as a worthy adaptation of his book of the same name, but it still makes some big changes to the source material. The much-anticipated sequel to Stephen King’s bestseller, The Shining, hit the bookshelves in 2013, while the sequel hit theaters early November 2019. Critics and audiences were mixed on Doctor Sleep, and its box office performance was subpar too. The film version of Doctor Sleep, directed by Mike Flanagan, follows Dan Torrance (Ewan McGregor) decades after the horrific events at the Overlook Hotel, as he battles alcoholism and tries to make a new life for himself....

When Doctor Strange was brought into the MCU, he introduced a whole new supernatural side of the universe. Through his origin story, he transformed from a self-centered surgeon to a hero who was willing to put his own life on the line to save the day. His prison series Wentworth featured episodes bearing titles like “The Girl Who Waited,” “Hell Bent,” and “Fear Her.” As far back as 2015, he was telling No White Noise that his entire career is a pitch to get to write Doctor Who....

The sequel to 2017’s IT, IT Chapter Two concludes Stephen King’s story about the Losers’ Club and Pennywise, but does it have a post-credits scene or other tease? King’s novel was previously adapted to the small screen in 1990, with Tim Curry playing Pennywise the Clown, but in Andy Muschietti’s 2017 movie, Bill Skarsgård donned the makeup and clown outfit to scare a new generation of the Losers’ Club. IT followed the child versions of the story’s main characters as they first discover Pennywise’s presence in Derry and defeat the clown....

The upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU’s next solo outing starring the Sorcerer Supreme, just lost its director. The sequel was set to be helmed by Scott Derrickson, the director of the first one, but following creative differences with Marvel, Derrickson has decided to drop out of the project and it’s currently without a director. A Doctor Strange movie requires a filmmaker with a strong visual style to bring Stephen Strange’s magical abilities to life, while it’s been confirmed that this movie will be the MCU’s first entry in the horror genre, so a horror-oriented director could be the best bet....

With fallout from Captain America: Civil War still lingering in its atmosphere, the Marvel Cinematic Universe readies for the second film of its third phase. The House of Idea’s next installment gives the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange, his just due the big screen. Despite its own controversy over Tilda Swinton’s Ancient One, Marvel’s most mystical character’s solo shot will explore a lesser-seen area of the MCU. While Marvel’s films are typically known for their work with superheroes, Doctor Strange will be their first examination of Marvel’s esoteric side, including the hidden world of demons and creatures from beyond our daily reality....
