Eva Green shoots down rumors about her joining Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, but says that she enjoys the MCU’s humor. Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the titular sorcerer, the film will be the second standalone film for the character following Scott Derrickson’s 2016 project Doctor Strange. The original helmer recently exited the film, and word has it that Sam Raimi is set to take over it. The movie was officially announced at last year’s Marvel Studios’ Hall H Panel at San Diego Comic-Con, but plot specifics are still tightly under wraps....

Containing mind-bending visuals and magical concepts heretofore unexplored in a Marvel Studios’ film, Doctor Strange could theoretically have turned off some of the core MCU audience. That obviously didn’t happen, as the origin story of the future Sorcerer Supreme has become only the latest in the MCU franchise’s string of huge hits. A critical and commercial darling, Strange reinforces the notion that Marvel Studios’ can turn seemingly any property into a hit....

Doctor Who returned after an extended break last weekend with ‘The Pilot’, an episode primarily designed to introduce new companion Bill Potts (Pearl Mackie). The premiere also established Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor as currently in hiding at an Earth university and tasked with protecting a vault of which the contents are unknown....

Microsoft recently announced the reboot of the classic beat them video game Battletoads. Battletoads first came out back in 1991 and has since made several franchise releases with 5 installments in the series so far. During the 19991 Nintendo Power Awards, Battletoads went home with seven awards. It has been referred to as one of the most ‘Difficult Video Game’ of all time. You may not want to be buried there, but should hang around after Pet Sematary 2019 for an after-credits scene? The new horror movie is a readaptation of Stephen King’s 1983 novel, widely regarded as one of his scariest works. Pet Sematary had previously been translated to the big screen by Mary Lambert in 1989 (with a more violent sequel released in 1992), but this new version from directors Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer is a very different affair....

Fans of Doctor Who are patient. (Not as patient as Sherlock fans, but they’re up there.) Jodie Whittaker and showrunner Chris Chibnall may be leaving Doctor Who in 2019. The classic BBC show went through quite a lot of changes this year, as Whittaker was cast as the first female Doctor, and Chibnall stepped in as executive producer for season 11. The latest episode of Doctor Who, “Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror,” is loosely inspired by a true story. Doctor Who season 12 traveled back to the past this week, allowing the Doctor an opportunity to cross paths with some more historical figures. This time round she found herself working with Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison, rival inventors who had accidentally stumbled onto an alien invasion. It seems that Nikola Tesla had unwittingly discovered a signal from an alien race of scavengers known as the Skithra....

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has travelled to the far reaches of the universe and introduced audiences to Norse gods like Thor and Odin, but back on Earth things are about to take a turn for the mystical in Doctor Strange. The second Marvel movie of 2016 will star Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) as Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange, a surgeon who discovers a new career as a sorcerer and superhero after an accident robs him of the use of his hands....

Marvel Studios was able to end 2016 in similar fashion to how it began. While Doctor Strange could not match the financial dominance of Captain America: Civil War, it was met with similarly great reception. Much of the reasoning behind audiences enjoying the film came not only from the trippy visuals, but also Benedict Cumberbatch’s portrayal of Stephen Strange. While Cumberbatch was the clear fan favorite and obviously got the role, it was not always a sure thing....

Choo Choo Charles is an interesting action mysterious game where the players have to kill a spider named Charles. The gameplay is based on a person who is on an open island with a train. The player then sees the spider and tries to kill it with the gun and equipment that is on the train. The train can be used on the island for navigating here and there. As the game is based on completing challenges and killing the spider, the player is confused about whether the game supports multiplayer or not....

Director David Gordon Green’s Halloween (2018) returns to John Carpenter’s classic horror franchise, but does the movie have a post-credits scene teasing a sequel starring returning slasher Michael Myers? Carpenter first introduced horror fans to Michael Myers (Nick Castle) and Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) in the 1978 version of Halloween. The film was successful enough to launch a whole franchise based on the slasher character - who appeared in all but one of the series’ installments - with the last entry arriving in 2009 with Rob Zombie’s Halloween II, the sequel to his 2007 reboot....

Legion creator Noah Hawley has teased some of the ideas for his planned movie about the iconic Marvel character Doctor Doom. Whilst production on the film is realistically a long way from starting and yet to be green-lit, Hawley hopes to provide a story that will ‘mix genres’ and finally provide a fitting platform to explore one of the best comic-book villains ever. Doctor Victor Von Doom has been pestering the Marvel Universe ever since first appearing in The Fantastic Four #5 in July 1962....

Doctor Who’s Brendan is a massive mystery heading into season 12’s finale, but a Captain Jack Harkness theory can be ruled out. This week’s “Ascension of the Cybermen” began a two-part finale that promises to change the landscape of Doctor Who forever, and pays off season 12’s earlier appearance from John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness. In “Fugitive of the Judoon,” Jack warned the Doctor to resist giving the Lone Cyberman what it wants, but in last week’s Mary Shelley adventure, the Time Lord did exactly that, handing the villain the Cyberium, and allowing the Cyber Empire to rise from the ashes....

Doctor Who held its first ever New York Comic Con panel this weekend, bringing along stars Peter Capaldi, Pearl Mackie, and Matt Lucas, as well as showrunner Steven Moffat and producer Brian Minchin. During the panel, some behind-the-scenes footage from this year’s superhero-themed Christmas special was screened (and shared online for those us not in attendance), teasing what might just be their most unusual Christmas special yet. Not to suggest Doctor Who doesn’t already tend to be quite unusual; it is, after all, a series that can be set in any time and/or place imaginable with at its center a character who can look and act vastly different given the decade, performer, episodic details, etc....
